From Foosball to Bumper Pool Tables

The foosball table has been in existence since as early as the 1890s, when Alejandro Finisterre wanted to create a type of soccer that disabled children could play. Thus the foosball table was born. Since then the foosball table has become wildly popular, catching on around the world and attracting both the novice and the advanced. Competition takes place from settings as casual as bars, where few rules are observed, to international competitions where rules are complicated and players are very serious. The sport has become well-loved across the world, entertaining millions in most any setting, whether it's in a personal home or a social club.

Foosball tables are one type of the many game tables available. Game tables are furniture pieces shaped like tables and specifically designed for entertainment. Game tables include card tables, chess tables, backgammon tables, pool tables, ping pong tables, air hockey tables, and, of course, foosball. Some tables offer multiple uses; for example, a three-in-one table may have bumper tables on the bottom, a poker setup on the middle layer, and a regular dining table on top. Such a table comes apart and is easy to reassemble upon demand.

Bumper pool tables are a less-known form of pool tables that take up less space and are played with shorter sticks, thus enabling anyone on a budget for money and space to play a challenging version of pool wherever they would like to place their table. The basic concept is similar to regular pool with a twist: a series of bumpers are placed around the playing area, serving as both obstacles and objects off of which you can bounce a ball into one of your pockets. These bumper pool tables come in two shapes: rectangular and octagonal, each making for a difficult yet exciting game.

Standard bumper pool tables have twelve bumpers, though some may have 12 or 14, depending on the version and the user's preferences. The octagonal tables offer even more surfaces and angles off of which to bounce the balls, while standard rectangular tables offer more traditional fun. Coming in a variety of sizes and set-ups, a bumper pool table can suit most anyone's gaming needs.

Game tables will continue to be enjoyed for as long as humanity exists. Their designs can range from simple to complex, and they can accommodate both the novice and the expert. A great way to relax or get competitive, game tables are an excellent form of entertainment.
